Or rather, the hat that never ends. I'm currently working on making the Sweet Honey Beret from Interweave Knits Wither 2008, using Laines Bouton d'Or Songe in 876. So far, it looks like this:
I modified the pattern a tidge to make it fit differently. Mostly, my head measured 23", and the pattern is for 21". So I added 4 stitches to the inital cast on. So far, so good. But, if you couldn't tell from that measuring tape in the bottom of the picture there? I'm not making very quick progress...
As in, I've been knitting for 3 hours. And the measuring tape has yielded the exact same result, every time I've measured, for the last 3 hours. I'm knitting and knitting and knitting, but not making much progress.
It's frustrating...
and time consuming....
It's a good thing I'm really in love with this yarn. Or I might have to work on one of the other billion projects I started yesterday. I might have a little startitis....There was a lot of leftover yarn from that blanket so I'm whipping up a real quick present to throw in the Christmas basket.
No, I don't think its too early to start knitting for Christmas? Why? I'm pretty sure the only reason I ever finish in time is because I start in March. Usually I'm done by August. Then, when I get 800 spur of the moment ideas at the last minute for additional gifts, I can get them done.
Anyways, back to the hat that never ends.
I'm kind of in love with that yarn. Even just from a picture. It's a little bit hypnotizing...
